Hi Lori- I am an Orrington resident and am organizing a recognition for Azubah during our town's Old Home Week this summer. Do you live in the area??

Truly absorbing story once again Lori, you have blended the social and political history of the day so beautfilly with Azubah's story.

Thanks, Paul! I’m super excited to bring this Finding America forward as this year progresses.

We have some really good friends in Canada who live in a pretty remote wilderness where there are far more bears than there are people, so I can fully relate to what she experienced!

I enjoyed reading Azubah story—made all the better by being able to view a picture of her—she lived through interesting times—A time when young girls saw off big bears.

What fun first names in this family. Following Azubah's early life pulled me into the post-revolutionary period effectively using this third-person sympathetic point-of-view. Looking forward to reading more.

I fell in love with the names, too! Several of the names, including Azubah, were passed on thru the generations and are still around today. As always, thanks for your kind words and continued support!

Thanks, @Pam. Azubah's story was one just begging to be retold during this historic year.
