This is my first time reading a serialised family history project on Substack, and I’ll be following along with interest. It is an ambitious piece of work and a striking story to begin with. I’m also writing a text of my own and have completed two chapters so far. Our approaches are quite different, but one thing I noticed we share is a focus on unfolding the lives of individuals with an awareness of the social context in which they lived. I look forward to reading more.

Lori Olson White's serialised book, "Call me a bastard" is on my radar!

I am just going to start reading each chapter (plus the bonus content) as a regular task whenever I am in Substack. Lori, you provided just the right sort of 'hooks' to get me interested: the title and the serialisation format. I am inspired and think that I might serialise my latest fantasy fiction manuscript here in Substack! Thank you for your creativity, Lori.

I enjoyed this well written story of Aimee and her life in the various schools for young ladies. It was evocative of the early Victorian era and its standards. What a wealth of research you have done Lori! And what a story. I hope to read more!
